Privacy Policy

When you create an account and use the Platform, we collect the information you give us. This includes your mobile phone number (used for sign-in), and, when you complete your profile, your name, email address, and date of birth. We use your date of birth to enforce our minimum age of 13.

As you use the Platform, you may also provide a profile photo, a short bio, your sports, your skill or rating information, your city or location, and the details of guests you book on behalf of. Providers may give additional business information such as a business name, locations, services, availability, and policies.

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay, your card or bank details are collected and processed directly by Stripe under Stripe’s own privacy terms. We do not store your full card number. We receive limited information such as a payment confirmation, the last four digits of a card, and the status of a charge or payout, which we use to operate bookings, credits, and payouts.

When you use the Platform, we automatically collect certain technical information, including your device type and operating system, app version, IP address, general location derived from your IP or device, and log and usage data such as the pages or screens you view and the actions you take. We use this to operate, secure, and improve the Platform.

On the web, we use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to run the service, such as keeping you signed in and protecting against fraud and abuse. In the mobile app, we use secure on-device storage to keep your session tokens safe. We use a third-party security service (Cloudflare Turnstile) to tell humans from automated bots during sign-in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

If you add the BaselineBook home-screen widget on your phone, a small amount of your upcoming-booking information (such as session times, locations, and names) is cached in secure on-device storage so the widget can display it without a network connection. This data stays on your device, is never shared with other users, and is cleared when you sign out. Because a widget can appear on your lock screen, names of other people are shown only as initials by default; a Provider can choose to show full names from the app’s widget settings, and is responsible for who can view their device.

We use your information to create and manage your account, to operate the marketplace, to process bookings, payments, credits, and payouts, to communicate with you about your account and bookings, to provide customer support, to keep the Platform safe and prevent fraud and abuse, to comply with legal and tax obligations, and to maintain and improve the Platform.

We may send you transactional messages, including a one-time sign-in code by text message and booking confirmations by email. You can opt out of non-essential booking-receipt emails in your profile settings. Standard message and data rates may apply to text messages.

We share your information with the Providers you choose to interact with, so they can fulfill your bookings. We share information with service providers who help us run the Platform, including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), a text-messaging provider (one-time codes), and Cloudflare (security). These providers may only use your information to perform services for us.

We may share information when required by law, to respond to legal process, to enforce our Terms, to protect the rights, safety, and property of BaselineBook, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform. When you delete your account, your phone number and email are released so you can sign up again, and we delete or de-identify your personal profile data. We may retain certain records, such as booking receipts, payout records, and dispute history, for longer where we are required to keep them to meet financial, tax, accounting, or legal obligations.

You can review and update your profile information in the app at any time. You can delete your account from the app settings. You can opt out of non-essential booking-receipt emails in your settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your personal information; to exercise these, contact us at the address below.

The Platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our signup flow rejects dates of birth under 13, and if we learn that a child under 13 has created an account we will delete the account and its personal information. Users who are 13 to 17 may use the Platform with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, as described in our Terms of Service. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us at privacy@baselinebook.org and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, secure on-device storage of session tokens, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

BaselineBook is operated from and currently serves users in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
